A nonprofit invitational rugby organization built on Kenyan flair, international friendship and the belief that a jersey should be earned, not assigned by birthplace.
Safari Selects began with a small core of Kenyan players drawn together by a shared style of rugby — fast, creative and fearless. What started as a handful of invitational appearances grew into a standing nonprofit organization built to give talented players a genuine path to compete on the international stage.
As the reputation of the squad spread, players from South Africa, Zimbabwe, the United States and other rugby communities began asking to be part of it. Safari Select said yes — not by diluting its Kenyan identity, but by opening the jersey to anyone willing to earn it. Today the organization is based in the United States, competes at invitational sevens tournaments internationally, and remains proudly rooted in the rugby culture that started it all.
"I came for the rugby. I stayed for the family. The jersey means something different once you've worn it."
