1. About These Terms
These terms govern use of this website and participation in Safari Selects tournaments. By registering for a tournament and paying applicable dues, you agree to these terms, including the participation, conduct and refund provisions below.
Safari Selects is a nonprofit organization registered in the State of Nevada. In these terms, “Safari Selects,” “we” and “us” mean the organization, and “you” means any player, visitor, supporter or partner who uses this website or takes part in our activities.
2. Registration & Roster Spots
Registration for each tournament opens on its tournament page. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, and roster spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis unless a tournament page states otherwise. A roster spot is secured only after your application is accepted and Safari Selects receives the required dues payment. When a squad is full, later applicants may be placed on a waitlist. If demand exceeds capacity, Safari Selects may register additional teams but does not guarantee it will do so.
Players must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
3. Dues
Dues amounts and inclusions are published on each tournament page. Unless expressly stated otherwise, dues may cover tournament entry, playing kit and team operations, but do not cover flights, accommodation, visas, travel insurance or personal expenses.
Playing kit is assigned from available stock using the sizing submitted at registration. Personalization is not guaranteed.
4. Player Responsibilities
- Provide accurate registration and emergency-contact information.
- Hold appropriate travel documents and arrange any required visas.
- Arrange personal medical and travel insurance that covers rugby participation.
- Be physically fit to compete and communicate relevant safety concerns to team management.
- Follow the code of conduct on and off the pitch.
5. Code of Conduct
Players represent Safari Selects and its community. Violence outside the laws of the game, discrimination, harassment, illegal conduct or behavior that endangers teammates, opponents, organizers or the organization may result in removal from the squad without refund and exclusion from future events.
6. Media Release
By registering, you consent to being photographed or filmed during Safari Selects activities and tournaments, and to approved use of that material for the website, social media and organizational storytelling. You may request that future use stop by emailing hello@safariselects.org.
7. Refunds & Withdrawals
- Withdrawal more than 30 days before the tournament: dues refunded less a $25 administration fee.
- Withdrawal 30 days or fewer before the tournament: 50% of dues refunded, reflecting costs already committed.
- Withdrawal after final roster submission: no refund. If Safari Selects fills your spot from the waitlist, dues may be refunded less the $25 administration fee.
- Tournament cancelled: dues refunded less any costs already committed that cannot be recovered, or a credit toward a future Safari Selects event, at your choice.
- Injury or documented emergency: reviewed case by case; a refund or future credit may be offered.
- Removal for a code of conduct breach: no refund.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to hello@safariselects.org. Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method within 14 business days.
8. Assumption of Risk, Release & Medical Consent
Rugby is a full-contact sport. Taking part in training, matches, tournaments and related travel carries inherent risks, including serious injury, permanent disability and, in rare cases, death. These risks include collisions and tackles, the actions of other players, playing surfaces, weather and travel to and from events.
By registering, you confirm that you take part voluntarily, that you understand and accept these risks, and that you are physically fit to play. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Safari Selects and its directors, officers, coaches, volunteers and partners from claims for injury, loss or damage arising from your participation in Safari Selects activities, events or travel, except where caused by their gross negligence or willful misconduct.
If you are injured or unable to make decisions for yourself, you authorize Safari Selects staff to arrange emergency medical treatment on your behalf. You remain responsible for the cost of that treatment.
Safari Selects is not responsible for personal travel arrangements, travel disruption, lost or stolen property or personal medical expenses. Tournament organizers may require you to sign their own waiver as a condition of play.
9. Website Use
Website text, photographs, logos and other materials belong to Safari Selects or their respective licensors and may not be reproduced without permission. Tournament information, dates and dues may be updated; the applicable tournament page contains the current details.
10. Payments & Donations
Tournament dues and donations are processed securely by Zeffy, a payment platform for nonprofits. Safari Selects does not collect or store full card or bank details on this website. Donations are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us within 30 days.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safari Selects is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of this website or participation in our activities. Our total liability for any claim relating to a tournament is limited to the dues you paid for that tournament.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or to Safari Selects activities will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nevada.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. Registrations are governed by the terms in place when you register.
